Why dilute eucalyptus oil when using on the scalp? I know you can and I know everyone seems to say you must but no-one seems to know why? I use it on my scalp straight with no apparent adverse effects. Please no guessing. I can guess too but it doesn’t help. If you don’t know just say you don’t know or don’t fill the internet with more fluff. It has too much already.

Hi Bhima, thanks for your enquiry. You will see at the bottom of our blog that this info came from a different person, hence we cannot change someone elses information, you always have to becareful with essential oils, but yes its fine to put on pure if your only putting on a small area, if you put in on a large area, ie a head you will dry out the skin, thats why its mixed with a carrier oil like olive oil to stop the skin getting to dry. We always recommend pure unless you are using it over a larger area on the body. Hope this helps. Kind regards Bev

I what way is Euc. Oil good for Diabetics & how do you use it for diabeties.

    1. Emu Ridge says:

Hi Marilyn, Many different cultures have used essential eucalyptus oils to help regulate blood sugar levels. What they have found is that eucalyptus essential oil can help with diabetes.

      Some ways to use it:

Add some Eucalyptus essential oil drops to your bath water with Epson Salts.
Use some Eucalyptus essential oil drops in a humidifier.
Massage your feet with the Eucalyptus essential oil.

The most effective way to administer essential oils to a diabetic is to use a Nebulizing Diffuser. Nebulizers diffuse pure essential oils in their most natural form without dilution or heat that can alter the properties of the essential oils.

Another option is to massage the oils into the skin. Make sure to dilute pure essential oils with a carrier oil such as sweet almond oil or virgin coconut oil. When applying topically use only 2-3% of pure essential oil mixed with the carrier oil.

Each of the options above is worth considering, but should only be a part of your total diabetic management regimen. Consult with your doctor and try out natural options, and you’ll be on your way to better diabetes control.
