Paint Picasso with Genette Gellard kicked off our season of creativity. Inspired by the genius of Pablo Picasso, this playful and beginner-friendly class encouraged participants, both adults and kids, to create their own abstract portraits. It was a joyful evening of colour, laughter, and embracing our inner child.
Next up were Karen Page’s popular Zentangle workshops, have quickly become a crowd favourite! Using just a pen and paper, this mindful drawing technique uses structured patterns to form beautiful, unique designs. Zentangle encourages relaxation and creativity, reminding us that it’s not about perfection, just the joy of getting lost in the patterns.
Chantal Leonhardt, one of our very own Emu Ridge team members, has also been sharing her passion. When she’s not helping out on weekends, she’s in her studio Bloom By the Ocean, creating beautiful works of art, and luckily for us, teaching others too! Her watercolour workshops begin with step-by-step guidance and end with participants crafting their own painting. Most recently, we painted vibrant bouquets from life — a calming and inspiring way to spend the day. Watercolour, after all, is about embracing flow and focusing on what you can control.
