Self-guided tours of our production area are available anytime during our opening hours. For a more detailed experience, guided tours are offered during peak season or can be pre-booked for a personalized guided tour.
Experience the charm of Kangaroo Island with a guided tour of our eucalyptus distillery, all set in a beautiful rustic bush setting. Learn the fascinating history of our distillery, discover the art of eucalyptus oil production, and finish your visit with a delicious Aussie breakfast and a comforting hot drink on our back deck.
Your experience includes:
4-minute video presentation on the distillery’s history and eucalyptus oil production
Beverage of your choice: freshly brewed tea, hot chocolate, or coffee made with Kangaroo Island’s award-winning roasted coffee beans
20-minute guided tour of the distillery, including the Post Office Museum, learning about the Turner family and pure eucalyptus oil production
Presentation on our products and their uses, plus information about other local produce from Kangaroo Island

Eucalyptus Oil Distillery Experience - Private Guided Tour
Emu Ridge offers personalised private escorted guided tours. These are only available if they are booked at least 24 hours prior - Times 9, 11 or 2.30
2 people minimum $30.00 and $15.00 per additional person, capped at $60.00. This tour experience takes approx. 30 minutes. Showing the history, process, and bottling room.
Most visitors allow an hour if they are having a guided tour, shop visit and toilet stop, and allow extra time to enjoy the Cafe and Cellar Door if feeling thirsty or hungry.
Eucalyptus Oil Distillery Experience - Guided Tour
Emu Ridge guided tours for car travellers, are only available in the school holidays at 10am, 12pm and 2pm and take about 25 minutes. You can book a private tour at any time under private guided tours
Most visitors allow an hour if they are having a guided tour, shop visit and toilet stop, and allow extra time to enjoy the Cafe if they are stopping to eat.
Guided tours are available anytime if booked prior to visiting.

Eucalyptus Distillery Experience - Self-Guided
Self-guided tours are available anytime and take approximately 10 minutes.
Most visitors allow half an hour if they are doing a self guided tour, shop visit and toilet stop, and extra time to enjoy the Cafe if they are planning to have something to eat or drink.

Emu Ridge Ultimate Experience
Upon arrival, immerse yourself in a captivating 4-minute interpretive video unveiling the rich tapestry of our past and present history, as well as the intricate distilling process.
Following this, unwind and savor our signature in-house damper paired with infused eucalyptus butter & KI native currant jam, complemented by an apple cider tasting experience of our local KI Ciders.
Embark on a personalized 30-minute guided tour of our eucalyptus oil distillery, led by one of our knowledgeable guides. Gain deeper insights into the history of this unique Aussie product, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our business and process. Upon your return, indulge in an enlightening product talk, further acquainting you with our natural products.
Explore our craft gallery and farmgate shop at your leisure before relishing in a delectable 2-course meal and cocktail from our diverse menu in the café.
As you bid farewell, receive a special mystery gift as a keepsake to commemorate your visit to Emu Ridge.
Emu Ridge Tour, Taste and Local Gourmet Produce Bushman's Picnic
Enjoy a private 1/2 hour guided tour of our eucalyptus distillery and an insight into the history of this unique product. Watch a 4 minute interpretive video that will show the history and distilling process at our Eucalyptus farm. We will then give you an appreciation of our natural products with a brief product talk to learn about all of the items that are made on site here on Kangaroo Island.
After viewing our farmgate shop and craft gallery you will head over to the Emu Ridge Café where you will experience a Kangaroo Island Cider Tasting Paddle while you nibble on our Aussie Damper or Halloumi Muffin served with our KI Eucalyptus Butter and KI Native Currant Conserve.
On leaving, take a Bushmans Picnic full of delicious local produce for you to enjoy at a later time.
Please note our Distilling season is at the end of Spring and through Summer as we produce much more oil from the new growth from Spring. We will let you know if the still is not in operation on your visit. Most people enjoy looking at the equipment where we make it even if it isn't in operation. The shop video is very informative as well!
