Sensory Play Dough with Eucalyptus oil

This is a great Play-Dough recipe, its easy to make and even easier if you have a thermomix. .

It’s easy to make eucalyptus sensory play-dough and so much fun! You can add a few drops of Emu Ridge eucalyptus oil to any play dough you may have, the kids will have fun, its also calming while it clears a stuffy nose and kills the germs. Squeezing a freshly made batch of play-dough between your fingers is awesome for anyone!

INGREDIENTS

2 cups of plain (all-purpose) flour

1 cup salt

4 tablespoons of cream of tartar

2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

2 cups of boiling water

4 drops of Emu Ridge Eucalyptus oil (coloring optional)

Directions

Mix all ingredients except the boiling water and eucalyptus oil together into a large mixing bowl.

Add the boiling water and mix well (note: the food colouring will mix in better if added to the boiling water). Take care when using boiling water around children.

Stir well until the mixture is well combined.

Add a few drops of eucalyptus oil and knead till combined.

Roll it out on a flat surface – now you’re ready for play-dough fun!

TIP: The play dough will last quite a few days if covered with  plastic wrap and stored in an air tight container. DO NOT allow your child to ingest the play dough. Supervise their play at all time.

This is the Thermomix Play Dough Recipe –  recommended by Fat Mum Slim

Ingredients

320g boiling water {use your kettle}
100g cooking salt
1 tbsp cream of tartar
350g plain flour
15g vegetable oil {or coconut oil}

4 Drops of essential oil of your choice
Food colouring of your choice

Method

♥ Place the cooking salt in Thermomix Bowl and blend for 5 sec on Speed 9. It should be a fine powder when you’re done.
♥ Place the cream of tartar in the Thermomix bowl with the salt, and then add the boiling water.Cook for 3 minutes at 60° on Speed 3.
♥ Use the spatula to check once finished to make sure that all your salt has been dissolved. Cook for a further 2 minutes at 60° on Speed 3.
&hearts Add the flour and mix for 30 seconds on Speed 3 or until well combined.
♥ Add the oil and then pulse for 1-2 minutes until mixed {it may look like small balls, and not one big ball}. Remove the play-dough from the Thermomix.
♥ Add the food colouring and essential oil in a separate bowl and knead together, until the colour has spread evenly.
♥ Store in an airtight container or in a seal-able bag.

Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil

100% Pure Emu Ridge Eucalyptus oil, we have been producing this wonderful product since 1991. Eucalyptus oil is antibacterial and anti-fungal, removes oil based stains and sticky things, acts as a penetrating oil, as well as having medicinal properties. Therefore is an ideal natural product for in and around the house, in the workshop and for the body. Due to regulations Eucalyptus Oil is only available within Australia.

This unique oil is the only one of it’s kind in the world. It is distilled from the leaf of the Kangaroo Island Narrow Leaf Mallee (Eucalyptus cneorifolia). Emu Ridge is the only commercial Eucalyptus Distillery remaining in South Australia.
Distillation of the oil began in the 1880’s and dozens of stills were established, making it one of the Island’s major industries.
One company, F.H.Faulding & Co purchased Emu Ridge in 1923, establishing two plantations in 1938 for the purpose of systematically harvesting it on a rotational basis. (The Narrow Leaf responds well to pruning.) Most success, however, was achieved by individuals who set up stills as a seasonal sideline.
Our oil is distilled in the traditional method at Emu Ridge. The leaf is placed into a pot containing water, beneath which a fire is lit, steam carrying the oil is passed through a system of cooling pipes, the oil separates and is piped off into containers. The raw oil undergoes another refining process to produce the final product crystal clear oil.
Native farming is far better for our environment, no sprays and chemicals, a great renewable resource and natural product.

The Body:
For cuts, burns and abrasions, the oil is a natural antiseptic, acne, relieves insect bites, is an insect repellent, soothes muscular aches & pains, a mouthwash, hand & skin cleaner, training oil, in the bath for a feeling of wellbeing, a decongestant for colds and flu by vaporisation, inhalation or embrocation, for sore throats, (adults a few drops with a teaspoon of honey).
