Kangaroo Island Marathon

Since 2015 KI is home to the Kangaroo Island Oats Kangaroo Island  Marathon. We have welcomed runners from 22 different countries and every state in Australia. The lucky runners course route is through the beautiful but physically hard Flinders Chase.  The runners get to experience the beauty of the island and have seen the growth post bushfire. Going past iconic parts of KI like Remarkable Rocks and parts of the beautiful Southern Ocean.

Full Marathon Race Route

Ths years marathon was held on the 21st May 2022. One of our former employees Acacia Wadham represented KI and came first in the Women’s 42K race. This was her first marathon of this length. She came 4th overall and the first Islander to cross the line. Well done Acacia!

Kangaroo Island Oats, who are a major sponsor, are a  local family business. We proudly stock their oats at our farmgate shop and online store.  KI Oats is farmed on our beautiful KI. The grains are sustainably produced with a natural approach. They welcomed the runners with a variety of different oats to enjoy after the race.
