Flinder’s Chase Visitor Center & New The Rocks Cafe Reopens
Following the destruction of the original Flinders Chase Visitor Centre building in the 2019-20 bushfires. The new improved Flinders Chase Visitor Centre has finally reopened! A valuable addition for our island community.
This $19.5 million facility features immersive exhibits showcasing the island’s distinctive narratives, it provides visitor information for the national parks, and includes a cafe called “The Rocks Cafe” and a retail area, all housed within an environmentally sustainable building.
To reduce the risk of potential future fires impacting the new center, it has been constructed on a previously developed site near the park’s entrance, using frames made from bushfire-resistant Australian timbers
Some of our products are available for sale in the new center. Once the new vegetation grows it will look great!
