Eucalyptus oil Australia’s first true export!

This pic was taken on our farm around the 1930’s. Their were 48 Eucalyptus oil distillery’s that employed over 600 people, and it was one of Kangaroo Island major industries. The Hand sickle was hard work. We use a chainsaw these days but its still very labor intense. This pic was taken when FH Fauldings used to own our farm and Joe Kent was managing it!

Eucalyptus oil was Australia’s first true export overseas! We are proud to have saved Australia and Kangaroo Islands history and heritage because 90% of the worlds oil now comes from China and Brazil!
