Bake and Brush Kangaroo Island

Bake & Brush by Aleeya & Bonita – Sweet Talent from Two Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs
Meet Aleeya and Bonita Holman — two creative, kind-hearted 11-year-olds who are proving that you’re never too young to follow your passions! With a love for cooking and creating, they’ve started their very own small business called Bake & Brush by Aleeya & Bonita you can follow them here, and it’s already winning hearts across Kangaroo Island.
From Cupcakes to Community
These two little entrepreneurs have been busy baking up joy. One of their biggest recent milestones was baking 150 cupcakes for the Parndana Community Garden’s 5-Year Celebration, supported by @KangarooIslandOurTown and the @KangarooIslandCommunityCentre.
Their sweet treats were a hit with everyone, including the renowned guest speaker Sophie Thompson from @sophiespatch, who was blown away by both the cupcakes and the community spirit of the event. Sophie shared how inspired she was by the resilience and growth of Kangaroo Island since the bushfires, and Aleeya and Bonita were proud to play a part in such a meaningful day.
Practicing, Partying & Perfecting
Aleeya recently travelled to Adelaide with her mum to learn new decorating techniques and came back inspired to create even more amazing cakes and cupcakes. Together, she and Bonita have been making custom birthday bouquets, cupcake party packages, thank-you treats, and specialty orders like sage green baby shower cupcakes, which let them experiment with new decorating styles and skills. They have also completed 2 sold out Christmas in July workshops during the school holidays. The sessions were filled with laughter, creativity, and lots of delicious buttercream as kids and teens decorated six festive cupcakes each, and had loads of fun along the way.
Baking with Purpose
What makes this all even more inspiring? Aleeya and Bonita aren’t just building a business — they’re saving up for a special trip to Cambodia, where they’ll be volunteering to support communities in need. The project is entirely run by volunteers and donations, and the girls are so excited to help where it counts most.
In their own words: “We don’t really know much about tax stuff yet, but if you can donate, please do, it would mean a lot, here is the link !”
Proud Grandparents Moment
As their grandparents, we couldn’t be prouder of these kind, creative, and motivated young girls. Aleeya and Bonita’s energy, compassion, and commitment to learning and giving back are a gift to everyone around you.
Whether it’s cupcakes, cakes, or sweet treats for birthdays, events, or just because — Bake & Brush by Aleeya & Bonita is full of love, flavour, and heart.
Follow along and support their journey, there’s so much more to come!
