Kangaroo island hosted the 15th Small Islands of the World Conference and we were honoured to hold one of the functions at Emu Ridge.
The Conference was opened by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le, Governor of SA. The conference was on July 2-7

This multi-disciplinary Conference explored how small island communities are seeking to contribute to global survival, by: empowering communities for peace and productivity; preparing people for the world of to-morrow; nurturing the human spirit; protecting nature and feeding the world; and developing solutions for self-sufficiency.
We supplied our rustic venue in the bush at Emu Ridge complete with a bonfire in our old eucalyptus still pot. We delighted our guests with our Potato and Vegetable Soup Bread Bowls, followed by our Homemade Rosemary Damper, and Chef Tony Nolan cooked up a traditional delicious Aussie Roast for Mains and Apple Crumble and Honey Iceream for Dessert.
The Kangaroo Island Wool Company also gave the guests a special treat with a fashion parade.

The Conference offered participants the opportunity to be connected with and immersed in an island community and environment. The aim was for our Conference to leave a lasting legacy for our community from the wealth of expertise attending, but conversely to also share our Island story, heritage and learnings with those attending from afar. The theme of the conference is Small island communities: models for global survival.
We were thrilled with the variety of presentations at the conference.
